HOURS & GETTING PAID
Cloud & Joy uses the Upwork platform to manage our independent contractors and log hours. If you aren’t already on Upwork, we will send an invite and set you up on the platform. It will cost nothing for you. Upwork does take a 10% processing fee from your wages, but this fee will be included in your pay on top of your hourly wages (over and above your agreed-on hourly rate).
You will be expected to log your hours via Upwork (this is the basis for your pay)
You are paid by Upwork and they will provide you with tax documentation and report your wages directly. Starting next year, you'll receive a 1099-K if you receive at least $600 in payments from your clients on Upwork in 2022. If you reach this amount, you'll receive a 1099-K from Upwork in January 2023. This does not impact your tax return for 2021.
As a note: Once on Upwork, you are free to use the platform as a freelancer and find clients — the platform’s available gigs are more focused on work-from-home admin and creative jobs.
Upon your hiring, you will receive an invitation from the platform to join as a contractor on Upwork. Once received, please accept the invite.
COLLABORATION PLATFORM: WHATSAPP
Cloud & Joy uses WhatsApp for real-time and message based interaction and collaboration. You will be given an invite to the Cloud & Joy Brand Ambassador channel. This is an open-channel for all the brand ambassadors in the various markets — so be aware anything you post will be visible to us and the other demo people
This is where you will post items like shots of the freezer cabinet before and after session, as well as a shot of your during-tasting activity for each session.
