Where would we be without art? Without it, our human landscape would be a world of grey boxes. Beyond galleries and art shows, it’s commercial art and design that’s painted our culture’s canvas for the last 100 years. Enter Kasey Blaustein, founder of Kasey Jones, Ink. She dove into a crowded field and set herself apart by putting the art front-and-center in her commercial art… creating unique experiences from live art events and installations, to interactive events for brands that make an impact. And beyond that, she’s harnessed her creativity for good by lending her talents to social activism and nurturing the inner artist in everyone with projects like her coloring kits.

It’s great to talk to you, Kasey! First, as always the most important question… what’s your favorite ice cream flavor?

Classic chocolate chip cookie dough or coffee chip…it depends on my mood!

Great choices! So, how did you get started on this path?

…Before launching my company [Kasey Jones, Ink] in 2014, I’d been working in the marketing and branding world for about a decade. Although I enjoyed aspects of my job, I didn’t feel fulfilled by it, and started exploring creative projects on my off hours. One of the projects included a chalkboard photo booth backdrop I created for my 30th birthday using that read “It’s Kasey’s Birthday” (that’s the PG version) in a super funky design using chalk ink. My photographer friend set up his camera, and the booth became a huge hit… (Continued)
